Assam Health Scheme: Atal Amrit Abhiyan Scheme

Amrit Abhiyan is the new health insurance scheme of the State Government of Assam.The scheme was launched on 25 December 2016 and is still running Today. Under the scheme, the government is providing insurance coverage of up to Rs. 2 lakh per year to each family of Assam state. Atal Amrit Abhiyan scheme, the Government of Assam provides cashless medical treatment to the poor families.

What is Atal Amrit Abhiyan health scheme?

Atal Amrit Abhiyan health insurance scheme was launched for BPL and APL families besieged with chronic, sudden, or acute health Problems. Under the Amrit Abhiyan Scheme, the Government provides insurance coverage up to Rs. 50. Under this scheme, medical benefits up to Rs. 2 lakh per annum are provided on an approved basis on a completely cashless basis. Scheme will be open for all BPL families and APL families in the state having annual family income upto Rs. 5 lakh. Families of government employees are not eligible under the Scheme.

  • Under this scheme up to Rs.2.00 lakh per person per year will be paid for treatment in both private and public hospitals covering 438 treatments inside and outside Assam.
  • It covers critical illnesses like cardiac problems, cancer, kidney problems, newborn baby health issues, brain disorders and severe burns.
  • Free treatment is available for poor and low income families.
  • Members can get treatment in hospitals without paying anything.

Atal Amrit Abhiyan Scheme : Eligibility Criteria

  • The person should be a permanent resident of Assam.
  • All individuals belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) families (annual income up to ₹1.2 lakh) are eligible to enrol and receive benefits under the scheme.
  • All families (whose annual income is between ₹1.2 to ₹5 lakh) are also eligible to enrol and receive benefits under the scheme.
  • The person must have a ration card issued by the Government of Assam under the National Food Security Act.

  • Applicant can go to the official website https://nhm.assam.gov.in/schemes/detail/atal-amrit-abhiyan-0  and download the form.
  • You can download the application form from here.
  • Now,  Write your basic information on the form.
  • Attach the required documents as required.
  • After that application form has to be submitted by post or hand.
  • Once submitted, the application form will be verified by the concerned officer.
  • If everything’s good, you’ll get the money in your bank.

Ans: The objective of the scheme is to provide cashless treatment and coverage of critical care targeted at the Below Poverty Line (BPL) population and Low-Income households.

Ans: Under this scheme, treatment benefits up to ₹2.00 lakhs per individual member per annum within and outside the State of Assam covering.

Ans: The six specialities are- cardiovascular diseases, Cancer, Renal (Kidney) diseases, Neo-natal diseases, Neurological conditions & Burns.

Ans: Yes, the individual should be a permanent resident of Assam.

Ans: Enrollment under the scheme is totally free for members of the BPL families.

Ans: Members of other families having an annual family income of ₹5 lakhs or less are required to pay a nominal amount of ₹ 100/- per individual at the time of enrolment. Every year at the time of the yearly renewal ₹100 will be charged from such family members.
